Elizabeth Mumanga

Elizabeth Mumanga is an environmental policy expert, climate change activist, and gender inclusion advocate with a strong focus on sustainable and inclusive tourism. She is driven by a deep passion for climate resilience, smart agriculture, and the empowerment of women and youth within tourism value chains as a pathway to sustainable development. An award-winning green technology innovator and a best graduate in Environmental Research from the Information and Communications University. Her work integrates environmental conservation, climate-smart solutions, and gender-responsive approaches to tourism development, ensuring that women and marginalised groups actively participate in and benefit from green tourism economies.

Elizabeth has championed youth-led climate policy recommendations and gender equality through high-level dialogues, digital advocacy, and cross-sector collaborations spanning environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, and eco-tourism innovation. Her diverse skillset includes community mobilisation, strategic communication, effective workshop facilitation, public speaking, and gender-responsive programme design. At the grassroots level, she has successfully implemented community-based initiatives such as tree planting, school advocacy programmes, environmental clean-up campaigns, green tourism hangouts, women-in tech and women-in-tourism programmes, and qualitative and quantitative data collection to inform inclusive policy and project design.
