Project Assistant & Marketing Volunteer: Work on Our Award Campaign

Help organise and promote the Gender Equality Champion of the Year Award and inspire positive change in the industry.

We’re seeking a Project Assistant & Marketing Volunteer to work on the Gender Equality Champion of the Year Award 2025 campaign.  

This is a remote voluntary position, working around 12 hours per month.

Background

The Gender Equality Champion of the Year Award is an international award presented to organisations that showcase a strong commitment to gender equality. Since its launch in 2022, the award has been instrumental in acknowledging leaders in gender equality and highlighting their exceptional practices.

By doing so, it facilitates the adoption and enhancement of these practices throughout the sector with the ultimate goal of fostering improved gender equality across the industry. The application process itself has been designed as a valuable tool for organisations to evaluate their current gender equality practices and easily identify areas that have room for development.

Purpose of the Role

You will support the Project Coordinator working on the Gender Equality Champion of the Year Award 2025 with marketing and various admin tasks.

Typical tasks might include researching and reaching out to potential award applicants, searching for sponsors, and creating posts for social media channels. 

Person Specification

This role would suit a student or recent graduate in marketing, event management and/or tourism looking to gain experience in the nonprofit sector or someone with relevant experience who has retired from paid work.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who has…  

  • An understanding of digital marketing and social media, with relevant academic or work experience.
  • Social networking skills.
  • Marketing content creation skills.
  • Great communication skills – written and in-person.
  • Good organisation and time management skills, able to manage deadlines and keep the team updated on progress.
  • Able to work with spreadsheets.
  • Committed to gender equality and has enthusiasm towards our goal of creating a fairer, more sustainable tourism industry. 

It’s a bonus if you have…

  • Event management skills.
  • Video editing skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the international tourism industry.
