Natalie Barnett

Natalie’s degree in Human Geography at Aberystwyth University in Wales and the opportunity it offered to study ‘Language, Culture, and Identity in Europe’, ‘Geographical Perspectives on Sustainable Society & People’ and ‘Place & Nation: a Geographical Perspective’ has led her to explore more of the world around her and to work in the travel and tourism and hospitality industry.

For the past 8 years she has worked in both leisure and business travel in the UK and the USA.  Prior to the pandemic, she was New York based, working for a leading Corporate Travel Management Company. As a Team Leader she implemented travel programmes and policies for numerous multinational clients, whilst also attending business review meetings, analysing client’s travel spend, programme performance and areas for improvement. In her roles within the travel industry, Natalie has fostered close relationships with airline, hotel, car rental and limo suppliers to help support her clients and their travel programme needs.

Her passion for networking within the industry, sustainable tourism, gender equality, and community development helps raise the profile of Equality in Tourism.

Over the past few months Natalie has attended various seminars on Gender Equality in Tourism and the current status of affairs when it comes to Women in Travel.
